Swapped grow lights for a south window and my seedlings stopped stretching
I was using a cheap LED panel from Amazon for my tomato and pepper starts this spring and they kept getting leggy no matter how close I put the light. After two weeks of weak stems, I moved them to my south-facing window in Portland and they turned stocky and dark green within 5 days. Has anyone else found that natural light beats artificial for early seedlings, or is my LED just junk?

Totally agree with you, those cheap panels just don't put out enough usable light for tomatoes and peppers. I had the same problem with my seedlings last year until I finally moved them to a west window. Natural sunlight really does have a quality that's hard to match with budget LEDs, no matter how close you put them.

Portland sun is gold for seedlings, I feel your pain with those cheap Amazon panels. Mine did the same thing until I finally gave up and stuck them on the windowsill.
