Switched from store bought to keeping my own compost pile for my roses

Honestly, I thought buying those bagged mixes at the garden center was fine for years. Then I started my own compost pile six months ago with kitchen scraps and yard clippings. The difference is night and day - my roses have way bigger blooms and darker leaves now. Plus I saved like $40 a month not buying that premium soil stuff. Has anyone else noticed a huge jump in plant health after going DIY?

My roses EXPLODED after just 3 months of homemade compost. Never going back to store bought again.

You said your roses "EXPLODED" and honestly I used to roll my eyes at people who said homemade compost was that much better. I figured dirt is dirt, right? But after trying it myself this spring my plants are greener and the blooms are noticeably bigger, so I have to admit I was wrong about that one.
