TIL how old-school plant lovers swapped seeds before the web
My uncle showed me his collection of seed packets from mail trades in the 80s. Now we just click to order rare varieties online. Makes you miss the anticipation of waiting for that envelope, right?

You say missing the envelope anticipation, but I find the old way just meant more delays and uncertainty. Online orders arrive fast and you know exactly what you're getting without failed trades. Isn't instant access to rare varieties better than waiting weeks for a maybe?

But @alice_wright36 what's better about it? The waiting was part of the fun, like the whole point. Getting that envelope finally and seeing what weird stamp someone picked out beat a tracking number every time. Instant just feels like buying office supplies.
