Traded my grow lights for a south window, game changer

Ran two cheap LED panels for my succulents for about 18 months and they kept stretching no matter what. Then I moved my echeverias to a south-facing sill in my apartment near Riverside and within 6 weeks the rosettes tightened right up. Sunlight just hits different, even with a basic 15 dollar light meter reading 1200 foot-candles. Anyone else ditch artificial setups for windows once they saw the difference?

Man, that's funny cause my friend Sarah had the exact same thing happen. She fought with her haworthias for months, kept moving them around the apartment. Finally she just shoved them on the west window in her bathroom, no direct light or anything. Plants went from squishy to solid in like three weeks. She still jokes about how she almost threw them out.
