My mortar joints went from looking like garbage to clean in about 3 weeks of switching trowels
I was using a wide London pattern trowel for everything and my cross joints were always smeared and uneven. A guy on my crew in Fort Worth handed me his 10 inch Philadelphia trowel about 3 weeks ago and told me to just try it on a garage wall we were laying. The difference was night and day. My buttering got more even and I stopped dragging mortar over the face of the brick so much. Anyone else make a switch like this, or is it more about hand pressure than the trowel itself?
