My mortar went off way too fast on a 30 foot wall in Fresno last week
I was laying a 30 foot run of block on a hot afternoon in Fresno and mixed a batch of mortar a little on the wet side to buy myself some time. Halfway through the run it started setting up in the mud pan, so I was basically buttering blocks with stiff mud that barely stuck. What's the trick for keeping mortar workable when it's 95 degrees out, do you just mix smaller batches or is there something else?
