PSA: left 6 bricks out in the rain for 2 days and they came back stronger, am I crazy?
Last week I had a small job in Rochester and got rained out Tuesday, so I left about 6 bricks sitting on the pallet overnight. Then Wednesday it poured again. I figured they were junk, but when I went to lay them Thursday they rang like a bell instead of that dull thud. My old timer on the crew said the same soak makes them bond better with the mortar, and honestly the joint held tighter than the dry ones I laid Monday. I used to think wet brick was a rookie mistake. Anyone else out there soaking brick on purpose, or am I just getting lucky with this batch?
