Remember when we all used to mix by hand?

I dropped about $1,200 on a portable mixer from Multiquick about five years back, thinking it was a silly luxury. That thing saved my back and my schedule on a big foundation job in Akron, mixing three times faster than my old method. Now I see the new kids with their fancy electric wheelbarrows and feel like an old timer. Anyone still using a hoe and a tub, or has everyone moved on?

Ngl, lee926 is right about the workout part. I did a small patio mix by hand last summer when my mixer was down, and my shoulders were shot for two days. Honestly, watching the new gear feels like we skipped a whole step. We went from busting our backs with a hoe to these quiet electric things that do the work while you stand there.

My back hurts just reading that. The old way was a full workout before the real work even started. We've earned the right to use the good tools now.
