Switched to a corner trowel for inside corners last month

Hated them for 10 years, always stuck with a standard trowel. Then a old-timer at the Mason Supply in Portland showed me how to use one with a buttering motion on both sides at once, saved me 20 minutes on a fireplace surround.

Take a decade to give up your hatred for a tool, huh? Corner trowels are like that grumpy coworker who finally shows their worth after you learn their weird quirks. Guess 20 minutes saved makes up for years of stubborn misery though.

You got that right with the grumpy coworker thing. I held out on corner trowels for forever too until a buddy showed me his trick with a lighter touch and less mud. From there it clicked and now i grab one every time for inside corners. @the_hugo your comment about taking a decade to give up the hate is spot on, it took me about eight years to finally cave. Once you get the feel for it, though, its hard to go back to the old way.
