That humid week in July when every mortar dried too fast

Three summers back I had a run of 90 degree days with no shade on a retaining wall job outside Austin, and I spent more time watering down the mix than actually laying brick. The next day I set up a misting rig from a garden hose and a cheap sprinkler head, and it saved the whole project. Anyone else deal with heat ruining their cure time?

90 degrees doesn't sound that bad for mortar work honestly.

My driveway got so hot last summer I measured 145 on the surface with a laser thermometer.

Wait, you actually measured 145 degrees on a driveway? I always figured the whole "pavement gets hot enough to fry an egg" thing was just an exaggeration.
