That job in Denver changed how I prep my corners forever

I was working on a commercial building in Denver last fall and the GC kept flagging my corners. He said they were 2mm off on three different walls. I spent an extra 4 hours redoing them and realized my corner block setup was just lazy. Now I always double check my leads with a level before I even start laying corner blocks. Has anyone else had a GC call them out on something that made you change your whole method?

That corner block trick you mentioned is solid. I started doing the same after a GC in Austin made me rip out a whole corner because my level was 3mm off.

Had a similar situation happen up in Seattle where the inspector made me redo a whole section because my blocks were 1/8th off from the string line. Dude was a harda about it too, like I was trying to cut corners or something. Ever since then I always set a laser line on both sides of the block before I even mix mud. Saves so much time in the long run even though it feels like overkill sometimes. That corner trick Patricia mentioned is the only way I do inside corners now after learning the hard way. Lesson learned, never trust your level alone when you can double check with something else.
