Wet mortar on a hot day - game changer I found
I was working a garden wall in Phoenix last July. Mix was drying out before I could even lay it. An old mason told me to soak the bricks the night before. Tried it Thursday morning. Mortar stayed workable way longer. Has anyone else done this for summer jobs?

My brother tried that in Tucson last year and the bricks got mold before he used them lol

Soaking them overnight is smart, but wouldn't you just run into the same issue if the bricks are still damp by noon? A buddy of mine swears by adding a little ice to the mixing water to keep the mortar cool longer. That way you get the same result without the mold risk.
