Finally figured out why my rice kept coming out mushy after 8 tries
I kept rinsing it once when the bag says to rinse 3 times for my specific brand, once I actually followed the directions it was fluffy and perfect. Anyone else have a budget meal staple that took way too many attempts to get right?

Wait, did you just say you were rinsing it once when the directions said three times? That's wild to me. I thought my issue was the water ratio but turns out I was skipping rinsing entirely for like five straight attempts because I thought it washed off nutrients or something dumb. What brand was it that actually needed three rinses? I've got a bag of jasmine rice in my pantry right now that's been collecting dust because I can't get it right, two tries so far and both times it came out tasting like paste. Maybe I need to actually read the label instead of guessing based on what my grandma did.
