Heard someone at the grocery store say they freeze their vegetable scraps for broth
I was standing behind a lady in line last Tuesday who told her friend she keeps a bag in the freezer for onion ends and carrot peels. Made me realize I've been throwing away stuff that could literally make free soup stock. Has anyone else tried this and does it actually taste good?

Man, that's exactly how I felt when I first heard about it. A buddy at work told me about his freezer bag trick for veggie scraps and I felt kind of silly for never thinking of it myself. I started tossing in the tops of celery, mushroom stems, and those sad leftover herbs that always go bad in the fridge. Steeped it all with some salt and bay leaf for a few hours last weekend and the smell alone was worth it. The broth came out earthy and mild, not super strong but totally fine for soups or cooking rice. Did you try it yet with your own scraps?
