I compared dried beans vs canned beans for 3 weeks and one nearly wrecked my budget

I used to always buy canned black beans because they are easy. But last month I decided to try dried beans from the bulk bin at my local grocery store for a whole month. The dried beans cost me only $1.20 per pound while the canned ones were $1.89 each. After 3 weeks my pantry was fuller and I had saved almost $8. Has anyone else made the swap and noticed a huge difference in their weekly spending?

Honestly love this idea, I've been thinking about switching too.

I read this article the other day from a guy who did the switch and he said the first few weeks were rough but after that he couldn't imagine going back. Made it sound pretty worth it honestly.

Did you soak them overnight before cooking? I tried the same swap a few months back and it saved me more than expected once I got a rhythm going. @reesemiller I found that cooking a big batch on Sunday and freezing portions made it almost as easy as opening a can.
