I finally realized I was wasting $15 a week on pre-cut veggies

Bought a bag of pre-chopped onions and peppers for $5 at Aldi last month, then noticed I could buy the whole veggies for $1.50 and chop them myself in under 5 minutes. Has anyone else found a specific pre-cut item that just isn't worth the markup?

Respectfully, you're looking at this wrong. Time isn't free. Some nights I'm dead tired after work and that 5 minutes of chopping feels like an hour. Plus my knife skills are terrible, I end up with uneven chunks and sometimes a cut finger. The pre-cut stuff from Aldi lasts me the whole week too, no waste. I pay extra for the convenience.

Pre-cut veggies from Aldi lasting a whole week depends on what you're buying. The onions and peppers do pretty well, but the butternut squash and sweet potatoes will start going brown and slimy by day 4 or 5. You might be getting lucky with what you pick or using them up faster than you think. I've had the kale mixes turn into a wilted mess by Wednesday. Not saying it's a bad deal, just that the shelf life claim is a little generous.
