My rice cooker died mid-meal prep and I had to pivot to a $4 pot

Last Tuesday I had 12 cups of soaked rice ready for the week and the cooker just stopped heating up, so I dumped it all into a dented stockpot and stirred it on low for 40 minutes, has anyone else dealt with a failed appliance right at the worst moment?
