Overheard my neighbor say beans are just filler for poor people
I was grilling last Saturday and my neighbor said beans are just a filler for people who can't afford real food. Made me chuckle because I make a batch of black bean burgers at least twice a month that cost me maybe $4 total. I mash up a can of black beans with some breadcrumbs, onion, and an egg then pan fry them. They taste way better than the frozen veggie patties at the store that cost $6 for four. Some people really think spending more money automatically means better food. Have any of you had someone clown on your budget meals before?

lol "filler for poor people" is such a wild take. I do the exact same thing with black beans, mash em up with some cumin and garlic and they come out fire every time. It's wild how people think expensive stuff is automatically better when half the time it's just paying for a name.

Three days in a row I've eaten black bean tacos for lunch and I'm not mad about it. People act like you need a fancy jar of mole or some $14 tortilla brand or it doesn't count. It's beans and tortillas. Relax.
