Showerthought: I spent $47 on protein bars last month before realizing a dozen eggs costs $3
I was buying those $2.50 protein bars every morning thinking I was being smart about breakfast, then did the math and realized I could get the same protein from eggs and a banana for about 80 cents, so has anyone else caught themselves overpaying for convenience food that is not even that convenient?
Oh man, I did the same thing with those fancy overnight oats cups! Bought them for like $3.50 each for weeks before my wife pointed out I was basically paying for someone else to scoop oats and yogurt into a cup. The kicker is I still had to add milk and wait, so the "convenience" was a total lie I told myself. Eggs and a banana it is, my wallet already feels better.
