Switched from ground turkey to lentils for taco nights
Always thought the meat was the main event until I tried using brown lentils with the same taco seasoning. Cost me $1.50 instead of $5 and honestly couldn't tell the difference after the first bite. Anyone else make this swap and stick with it?

Oh yeah, I made the same switch about six months ago and haven't looked back. The texture is close enough once you cook them down with the seasoning, and it's nice not having to worry about if the meat is fully cooked. Plus my grocery bill dropped enough that I can afford the good salsa now.

Did you find the texture difference bothered you at first, or was it pretty easy to get used to? I remember I had to tweak my seasoning a little bit (extra cumin, you know) before it really clicked for me.

patb12, I did that same swap a few months back and the savings really do add up fast.
