The switch from store-bought pasta sauce to making my own
I used to just grab whatever jarred sauce was on sale at HEB, usually around $2.50 a jar. Last winter I started making my own with a $0.80 can of crushed tomatoes, some garlic, and dried basil, and it tastes way better for half the cost. Has anyone else noticed a big difference ditching premade stuff?

Really feel you @alicew68, once you taste that fresh sauce there's just no going back to the jarred junk.

Ngl, once you go homemade you can't go back. That jarred stuff tastes like sugar and regret now.

my friend sarah swore by prego for years but then her sister brought homemade sauce to a family dinner. she texted me later that night like "i think i've been living a lie" lol. now she's got a whole weekend ritual making sauce from scratch and even grows her own basil on the windowsill. says she ruins every jarred sauce for herself now because it just tastes like sweet paste. honestly kinda jealous of her dedication but i dont have the patience for all that stirring.
