Tried dried beans vs canned for a month and the savings were insane

I switched from canned black beans to dried ones back in February. A 2-pound bag costs me $2.50 at the local grocery in Phoenix and makes about the same as 6 cans at $1.50 each. The trick is soaking them overnight and cooking a big batch on Sunday. Has anyone else noticed how much faster dried beans cook in a pressure cooker?

Did you ever forget to soak them the night before and end up ordering pizza instead? Because I'm pretty sure that's how I lost all my "savings" the first week.

Oh man, the pizza tax is real isn't it? I swear my bean savings fund got hijacked by delivery fees more times than I care to admit. Kind of defeats the whole purpose when you're paying $20 because you forgot to check the pantry.

Yeah the forgetting to soak thing is real. I read somewhere that you can actually do a quick soak method where you bring the beans to a boil for a few minutes and then let them sit for an hour and that works just as good. I tried it once when I was in a hurry and it actually worked. But honestly the pressure cooker is a lifesaver for dried beans. I got one last month and now I can have beans ready in under an hour without planning ahead. Do you have a pressure cooker or just stick with the overnight soak?
