Used to toss all my veggie scraps, now they go in a freezer bag for stock

After I moved to Austin last spring and saw how much I was throwing away each week, I started saving onion peels, carrot ends, and celery tops in a gallon bag, and now I make a free batch of broth every couple months that saves me about $12 a trip to the store, so does anyone else do this or am I just weird about my freezer?
