Warning: my 89 cent rice bag turned into a science experiment

I bought a 5 pound bag of rice for 89 cents at the discount market in Fresno. Thought I was being smart about stretching groceries. Two months later I opened the pantry and there were little moths flying around the bag. Turns out those cheap bags can have eggs already in them. Now I freeze all my rice for 3 days before storing, anyone else have to do that or did I just get a bad batch?

Heard on a podcast that freezing rice kills the larvae dead, so you did the right thing.
