I finally saw the before-and-after on my electric bill after swapping out six old bulbs

Switched to LEDs in the kitchen and living room about 3 months ago, and my bill dropped $18. Did anyone else not realize how much those old incandescents were eating up?

Funny how you don't notice the little leaks until you plug them. Same thing happened with my phone charger and standby power, now I unplug everything when I'm not using it. Been looking at other hidden costs around the house since that lightbulb moment?

My buddy Mark started unplugging everything after he got his electric bill and nearly fell off his chair. He kept a little notepad by the breaker box for a month to track what was actually running when nobody was home. Found out his old basement freezer was costing him almost forty bucks a month just to keep a few frozen pizzas company. Now he's got a kill-a-watt meter and goes around the house like some kind of energy detective.

Honestly, it's wild how that kind of thing sneaks up on you everywhere, not just in the house. Tbh, I've noticed the same pattern with my phone, like checking social media for five minutes and suddenly an hour's gone. Ngl, plugging those little leaks is the only way to keep from getting totally drained.
