I used to think buying in bulk was always cheaper, turns out I was wrong
My neighbor Steve told me last month that bulk buying at Costco wasn't saving me money on things I'd never finish. I laughed it off, but then I checked my pantry and found a 10-pound bag of rice I'd barely touched after 6 months. The rice ended up getting bugs, so I tossed half of it. Now I only buy bulk for stuff like toilet paper and soap that actually get used up. Anyone else fall for the bulk trap?

Got a 5-gallon bucket of laundry detergent thinking it was a steal. Three years later I'm still working through it and my clothes smell fine but I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever buy detergent again. The bulk trap is real and it got me good.

The detergent is still good, just dilute it more. You might have a lifetime supply.
