I was buying name brand beans for years until my neighbor pointed it out

I always grabbed the same can of beans at the store, paying about $1.89 each time. My neighbor saw my grocery bag last week and asked why I didn't just get the store brand for 79 cents. I tried them yesterday and honestly, they taste exactly the same. Has anyone else found a simple swap like this that saved a bunch of money?

Name brands often use better ingredients and have stricter quality control though.

Check the store brand label, it's often the exact same stuff.

Yeah I kind of get where you're coming from, honestly. Like I've had some store brand stuff that was just straight up disappointing, especially with things like coffee or peanut butter where you can really taste the difference. It's not always the exact same product just with a different label, even if people say that a lot. But man, sometimes it really is, and you just end up paying double for the name and a fancy jar. I guess it's one of those things where you gotta try it and see for yourself, though I totally feel your frustration because it can be a gamble.
