I was wrong about the 30 day meal prep thing

I always thought making a month of food at once was the best way to save money. Last winter I spent $150 on ingredients and a whole Sunday cooking, but by day 20 I was so sick of the same chili I ended up ordering pizza. Now I just prep for 5 days at a time. It costs a bit more per grocery trip, but I actually eat it all. Has anyone else found a sweet spot for how much to prep at once?

My sister swears by her two week freezer rotation. She makes two different big batches, so there's some variety. It seems to work better than a full month of one thing.

Actually, a two week rotation is still a full month of food... it's just two different things. She makes two big batches, each one lasting two weeks. So you eat batch A for two weeks, then batch B for the next two weeks. That's a month total, but with a switch halfway through. It's the variety that makes it feel less boring.

Yeah, the "two different big batches" idea is smart. I was stuck on doing a whole month of chili or soup and just got so sick of it. Splitting it into two things for two weeks? That actually sounds doable.
