Just realized the $6 laundromat down on Main beats my apartment washer in every way
So my washing machine at the apartment started leaking onto the floor last month and the landlord said it would be two weeks before anyone could look at it. I ended up hauling my stuff down to the coin laundry on Main Street, the one between the taqueria and the auto parts place, and I swear it was the best $6 I have spent all year. The big front loaders there actually get my work shirts clean, no ring around the collar, and the whole load finishes in about 30 minutes instead of the 90 minute cycle my old machine runs. Plus the dryers on high actually dry everything in one round, so I am not paying twice and waiting around. My power bill last month dropped by almost $14 just from not running my machine and dryer at home, which honestly surprised me. The only downside is remembering to bring quarters and sitting in a plastic chair listening to someone else's podcast. Has anyone else done the math on this and figured out if the laundry room at home is even worth keeping?
