My cheap worm compost bin actually paid for itself in 3 months
I set up a $15 DIY worm bin from a plastic tote and some newspaper last fall, totally expecting the worms to die or escape. Now I'm saving about $8 a month on potting soil and my tomato plants in SCV look better than ever. Anyone else tried vermicomposting on a tight budget and had it work out?

Honestly I used to think worm bins were just a crunchy granola thing that never really worked. But I tried a similar setup with a rubber tub and some shredded cardboard after my friend swore by it, and guess what my peppers are going crazy now too. Ngl I figured they would all crawl out or drown but they just stay put and eat everything. Tbh the $8 a month savings is real and it adds up way faster than I expected.

That reminds me my buddy tried using coffee grounds once and his bin ended up smelling like a Starbucks dumpster for weeks.
