My cousin in Boise said she spends under $20 a week on groceries by only buying what's on the store's 'clearance produce' rack.
I mean, I tried it myself and got a bag of peppers, some apples, and a bunch of carrots for like $4.50 total, which made me wonder what other simple, local tricks people are using that don't get talked about much online.

Check the bakery outlet stores too. Got day old bread for a dollar last week.

Totally agree, that stuff is like cardboard sometimes. Found some rolls last month that could have doubled as hockey pucks.
