My neighbor pointed out I was buying the wrong size trash bags

I used to just grab whatever 13 gallon bags were cheapest at the grocery store in San Jose. Been doing that for years. Then my neighbor saw me struggling to get a bag over the can rim and said those smaller bags are actually for kitchen bins, not standard tall cans. I measured my can and sure enough it needed 15 gallon bags. Switched to the right size and now I don't have bags slipping down or ripping when I pull them out. Saves me from double bagging when stuff gets heavy. How many people do you think are using the wrong bag size without realizing it?

Honestly, I was using 13 gallon bags too. This makes way more sense.

13 gallon is actually the standard "tall kitchen bag" size, a lot of people don't realize the 15 gallon ones are really just for deep cans like the ones in restaurants or those giant Rubbermaid bins.
