Tried fixing a leaky faucet with a $5 part from Ace Hardware on Saturday
It took me 4 hours to realize I needed a $15 tool I didn't own to get the old washer out, and now the water's still dripping, so does anyone know a plumber in SCV who won't charge me $200 just to show up?

...and my experience is that $200 is actually a decent rate for SCV these days, most guys here start at $150 and go up fast if it's a weekend call. Might be cheaper to just buy the tool and try again, worst case you're out another $15 and still calling someone.

Dang that reminds me, my buddy tried to fix his own garbage disposal once with just a YouTube video and ended up flooding his whole kitchen lol. Took him way more than $200 to fix that mess.

Honestly, that's exactly what I was thinking. I had a similar situation with my garbage disposal last year and tried to do it myself after watching a few videos. Spent like $30 on parts and a tool I thought I needed, but in the end I just ended up calling a guy anyway. Ngl, that $200 would have been a steal compared to what I paid after all my failed attempts.
