Water heater died on a Sunday and the $800 quote sent me to YouTube
My water heater stopped heating last Sunday morning, and the first plumber I called in Vancouver quoted me $800 just for the part plus labor. I found a $28 thermocouple at a local hardware store and swapped it myself in about 40 minutes, though I did spill a little water on the floor. Has anyone else gone the DIY route on a water heater fix, or is that something you'd just leave to a pro?
