A retired electrician in Tulsa made me rethink how I layout panel boxes

Met a guy at the supply house who's been doing this since the 70s. He pointed at my neat rows and said 'you're building for the photo, not the guy who has to service it.' He showed me how he leaves 6 inches of slack on every wire so you can actually pull a breaker out without a fight. I've done 20 panels since and his way is just better. Anyone else get advice from an old timer that totally flipped their process?
