Bought a $300 moisture meter that was a complete scam

Ngl I spent 300 bucks on a fancy digital moisture meter for checking lumber and it was off by 15% compared to the old analog pin type. Anyone else had a digital tool that just flat out lied to them?

I read somewhere that some digital meters just use preset calculations that don't account for different wood densities. @olivia_bailey is right that recalibration can help, but honestly, your old analog meter might be the more reliable tool here.
