Hit 100 sales on my woodworking patterns last night

I put a set of cabinet plans up on a maker site back in February and forgot about them until the email pinged me. Never expected anyone would actually pay for something I drew up in a notebook.

Congrats, that's awesome. Same thing happened to me with a set of shelf plans I threw up on a craft site last year. I just scanned my hand drawn sketches and put them up as PDFs, never thought anyone would buy them. Now I get a few sales every month without doing anything extra. It's a nice surprise when the notification pops up.

That's awesome but just one thing - hand drawn sketches scanned and turned into PDF's are gonna look a lot different than a clean digital pattern file. I've bought a few patterns from different places and the scanned notebook pages had measurements that were hard to read and the lines were all fuzzy. If you're selling your shelf plans and they're working for people that's great but you might be leaving money on the table by not cleaning them up in something like Inkscape or even just tracing them neatly into a word doc. The buyers I've seen complain most about pattern sites are the ones who get sloppy scanned stuff that's missing dimensions or has arrows pointing to nothing.
