Forget fixing old junk and just buy a new tool. Modern stuff is so cheap and reliable it's not worth your time. You'll finish the job faster with a fresh drill in your hand.

Man, I fixed my grandpa's old saw and it still cuts better than my new one.

Yeah, new tools are cheap but they just don't last like the old ones did.
