Am I the only one who noticed the friendship graveyard at my 10 year high school reunion in Fresno
Went to my 10 year reunion in Fresno last Saturday at a spot near the old mall, and it was weird in a way I did not expect. Nobody was fighting or making scenes. It was more like everyone came with a list of people they used to be close to and just quietly avoided them all night. I counted at least four tables where two guys who were best friends in school sat with their backs to each other, and one old buddy told me flat out he had not spoken to his former roommate since a money thing went bad in 2016. What got me was how normal everyone acted about it, like losing a best friend is just part of turning 28. I ended up talking to this girl named Rosa for an hour about a friend she cut off over something small that turned into something big. Made me think about the two people I stopped calling after dumb arguments, and I do not even remember what started it in one case. So now I am wondering, do you ever reach back out to someone you burned, or do you just let the bridge stay down for good?
That reunion sounds like my family parties. I reached out to my old friend Marisol after 6 years of silence over a stupid fight about a dress. She was happy I called. So yeah, pick one person and just send a text. Worst case they do not answer and nothing changes.
