Dropped $310 trying to fix a friendship with a gift I couldn't afford

My best friend since 7th grade stopped answering after I missed her baby shower in Austin two years back, so I panicked and bought her a $310 stroller to say sorry. She never replied and the stroller is still in my garage in its box. Has anyone else tried to buy their way back into a friendship that was already over?

Yikes, I did the same thing with a $200 espresso maker for a guy who ghosted me after his wedding. It sat in my closet for a year until I finally just gave it to my cousin.
