Realized I was the toxic one after my friend Sarah sent me a screenshot of our chat
I always thought my best friend was being dramatic when she said I made everything about me, but then she showed me our texts and 9 out of 10 times I turned her problems into my problems. The moment it clicked was when she said 'you didn't even ask how I was doing' after I talked for 20 mins about my job drama. Has anyone else had a friend call them out like that and actually listened?

The part about the screenshot is what gets me. She had to show you actual proof because just telling you wasn't working. That says a lot about how blind we can be to our own patterns. I had a buddy do something like that to me years ago, except he just stopped calling for like two months and when I finally asked what was up he laid it all out. Honestly the screenshot thing might be kinder, at least you got to see it right away instead of sitting there wondering what you did.
