The time I left my camping group over a broken tent pole

Last summer at Yosemite, my friend Dave snapped my tent pole trying to force it into a bent sleeve and just laughed it off. I stood there in the rain at 11 PM holding two halves of a pole while he joked about it being my fault for buying cheap gear. Have any of you ended a friendship over something that felt small to them but huge to you?

Oh man, that's rough. I once ended a camping friendship over someone eating my last pack of instant ramen and then telling me I should've packed more if I was gonna be so territorial about it. Not as dramatic as a tent pole snapping in the rain, but I still get salty thinking about those noodles. Honestly, if someone laughs off breaking your gear in a storm, they're probably gonna laugh off worse stuff down the line. Good on you for walking away, even if you had to carry two halves of a pole while doing it.

Was he like that about other stuff too or just the tent?
