Finally figured out why my tenant's AC kept freezing up after 4 service calls and $1,200
Turned out the air filter was the wrong size and a cheap cardboard frame was blocking the return vent the whole time, so has anyone else here burned money on a simple fix that took way too many tries to catch?

Bet the landlord special included a $400 diagnostic fee just for that.

Prove it though, cause half the time the tenant caused the issue by not following basic care instructions lmao. Landlords have to eat the cost of property tax, insurance, and random repairs on their dime too. If someone came to my house to fix my own fridge I'd expect to pay for their time and gas money. Plus that $500 story probably had the guy canceling the repair after the technician already drove 30 miles to his place.

Did you see that story about the guy who got charged $500 just for someone to come look at his broken fridge? Landlords really do act like they're doing you a favor by taking your money.
