Hired a social media manager for $500 a month. Got 3 posts total.
Last month I finally caved and paid a freelancer to run my HVAC company's Instagram. They promised leads and engagement but all I got were three generic photos of a thermostat. Has anyone here had better luck with a decent social media person?

Three posts for $500 sounds like they charged you $166 for each picture of that poor thermostat." You got the 'vibe' they promised but forgot the content part.

You mentioned they got the "vibe" right but forgot the content, and I think that's actually part of the same problem. A lot of these social media managers focus so hard on making things look cool that they totally miss telling people what the business actually does or sells. Like, yeah the photos might be pretty but if I can't tell what product or service you're offering then what's the point?
I've seen local shops pay big money for posts that are all filtered photos and trendy music but zero information about their hours or menu. It's frustrating because the vibe without substance is just a waste of cash.
