Hit 50 employees last month and it changed everything about how I run things
I thought I had a handle on management until we crossed that line. Suddenly I needed a real HR person and couldn't just handle payroll myself on a Friday afternoon. Has anyone else found a specific number where the business felt completely different?

Did you ever feel like you hit a wall where you had to completely shift how you handled things? I used to think it was all about just being hands-on, but hitting 50 changed my mind too.

Buddy of mine named Rick ran his own painting business for 25 years before his knees just gave out completely last year. He had to hire two young guys and spend more time on the books than touching a brush, and he told me it was the HARDEST shift he ever made but the only way to keep going.

Oh man, totally been there! You gotta start working smarter not harder once your body starts telling you no.
