I spent $400 on a custom neon 'Open' sign for my shop and a pigeon built a nest directly in front of it.

Now customers keep asking if we're closed, and I'm debating the ethics of bird relocation versus just buying a spotlight.

Consider the pigeon's point of view. It saw your bright, warm sign as the perfect streetlamp to nest under, like a 24/7 sun. That bird chose prime real estate. Moving it might just make it pick the next best lit spot, maybe right on your door handle. Maybe you could put up a tiny temporary sign next to the nest that says "Yes, We're Open, Bird is Just Decorating.

Tiny sign next to the nest" is a cute idea but honestly, that's just more clutter. I mean the whole point was a clean, clear sign. Maybe the bird just needs to find a less important lamp.

Tiny sign next to the nest"? That bird chose prime real estate. Imagine paying $400 for a sign just to have a pigeon turn it into a sun lounger. I'd probably just give up and buy a spotlight.
