Just got ghosted by a vendor after they took my $500 deposit
Was at a networking meetup in Portland last month and this printer guy promised me a 2 week turnaround on merch for my gym, now it's been 5 weeks and he won't even answer my texts. Anyone else get burned by a small biz owner who seemed legit at first?

Hold up though, I think there's another side to this story that's worth thinking about. A 2 week turnaround is really fast for custom merch, and sometimes small biz owners get in over their heads with orders they can't handle. Maybe give the guy a few more days before calling it a total loss, things get crazy for small shops sometimes.

Did you ever try hitting them up on a different platform? Sometimes Instagram DMs get buried but an email or a text might get you a real response faster. I waited 10 days past the quoted date once and it turned out the guy had a family emergency, not that he was scamming me. A quick "hey just checking in" on their business account might save you the headache of a chargeback fight.
