Picked up a used bookkeeping software at a garage sale for $20

Lady was clearing out her late husband's office stuff and I snagged QuickBooks 2019 on a whim, turns out it was the Pro version with like $600 worth of licensing still good. Has anyone else ever found killer deals on business tools from random places like estate sales or flea markets?

Did the guy who owned it seem like he was an actual bookkeeper or just someone who bought it for a side hustle that never took off? I've noticed a lot of these killer finds come from people who bought the tools for a dream project and then just let them collect dust. Would be curious to know if you saw any other clues about what he was using it for.

People sleep on garage sales so hard for software and tools lol. I've noticed this pattern where older folks or families cleaning out an estate just want stuff gone and have zero clue what the current market value is. My uncle snagged a barely used QuickBooks POS system with the card reader and everything for $15 at a moving sale last spring, the seller was just like "my son left this here and I need it out of my garage." There's something about seeing physical items at a table that makes people price them like they're old clothes instead of business equipment.

That's an absolute steal! Man, I found a similar deal at an estate sale last year - picked up a complete set of heavy-duty shelving and a commercial grade paper shredder for thirty bucks. The shredder alone goes for like $400 new, and it's built like a tank. Also scored a barely used label maker that still had half a roll of thermal labels in it. Sometimes people just want to clear stuff out fast and don't realize what they're sitting on.
