Pro tip: I switched from a flat hourly rate to project-based pricing for my landscaping jobs

The flat rate was causing constant scope creep and arguments, but now clients get a clear quote upfront and I actually make more per job. Anyone else made a pricing change that worked out better for them?

Yeah, I read an article about this last year. It said the flat rate basically trains clients to ask for more because they think it's free. Switching to project pricing puts a clear fence around the work. Makes them think twice before asking for extra stuff.

Scope creep" was my life too until I tried this.

Used to fight scope creep on every single job. This approach flipped a switch in my head about where the real problem starts. Now I see it's about the first conversation, not the last change order.

I was a flat rate guy too but this makes sense now.
