Spent $800 on a local business license consultant and it was a total waste

We opened a second location across town. Figured a pro could handle the new city's paperwork faster. Paid the guy $800 flat fee. He just gave me a checklist I could have found online. Ended up doing all the filing myself anyway. Took me two afternoons. Has anyone found a service like this that was actually worth the money?

That's the worst feeling, paying for what should be expert help and getting a basic printout. Happened to a friend with a permit expediter who just disappeared after taking the fee. Makes you wonder what these consultants actually do all day, right? Seems like they bank on people being too busy to look up the simple steps themselves.
